Michael Johnston  

John McCoach

CEO and  Non-Executive Director

Mr. John McCoach was appointed CEO in August 2018 following the departure of Mr Mike Johnston. Mr McCoach originally joined the Board of Directors in October 2017 as an Independent Non Executive Director. He  retired as president of the TSX Venture Exchange in 2017, a position he held since 2009. He is currently on the board of directors of the Capital Markets Authority Implementation Organization; the entity tasked by five participating provinces, one territory and the Government of Canada to create a pan-Canadian securities commission. He is a financial industry executive with experience in various strategic, management and operational roles. He has a track record of success in building strategies and programs to meet customer needs, maximize revenue growth, operational efficiency, and shareholder value. Mr. McCoach is also adept at leading and coaching teams through large, complex organizational and cultural transformations and regulatory changes. He is highly effective in establishing trust and credibility, both domestically and internationally, with multiple constituents.

Mr. McCoach has over 35 years’ experience in the investment industry. He has witnessed, and participated in, many changes in the Canadian capital markets. He was a senior vice president, corporate finance for an independent Canadian investment dealer prior to joining TMX Group.

Glenn Withers

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Glenn Withers joined the Company in October 2016 as Financial Controller and Acting Financial Officer. He has 18 years experience in finance, initially in Investment Banking, with the last 6 years in senior finance positions in oil and gas, drilling and resource companies with the MB Group. Mr. Withers has a bachelor of commerce from the Univeristy of South Africa, an MBA from Oxford Brookes and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Stuart MacKenzie

Legal Counsel

Mr. Stuart MacKenzie originally joined the Company in October 2016 as Company Secretary and Legal Counsel.  In September 2018 he resigned as Company Secretary but remains as Legal Counsel for the Company. He has over 30 years experience in them ining industry, and holds a BSc (honours in Geology) from The University of Alberta, and a law degree from the University of New South Wales. He has extensive experience with TSX, NASDAQ, ASX and POMSoX listings, as well as SED and SOX requirements. Mr MacKenzie had served as legal counsel and company secretary for Placer Dome Asia Pacific Limited, Lihir Gold and Pacific Aluminum as well as periods working for Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) Stikeman Elliott and Barrick Gold. Stuart has been admitted to legal practice in Queensland, New South Wales and British Columbia and is a member of the Queensland Law Society.

 
Mel Togolo  

Mel Togolo

PNG Country Manager

Mr. Mel Togolo has over 30 years of experience in senior roles, working for industry and government in Papua New Guinea and abroad. He was President of the Business Council of Papua New Guinea for six years and continues to be consulted as a mentor.

Mr. Togolo has represented industry at the board level, including roles at Westpac Bank PNG Limited, Highlands Gold Limited and Bougainville Copper Limited, and was also Deputy Chairman of the Investment Promotion Authority of Papua New Guinea. While he is no longer the Chairman of the Board of National Superannuation Fund Limited, he remains as member on the Board.

Prior to his appointment at Nautilus he worked for ten years as the General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Placer Dome Niugini Limited.

 
 Paul Taumoepeau  

Paul Taumoepeau

Tonga Country Manager

Mr. Paul Taumoepeau grew up in Tonga, before going overseas to pursue academic studies. He returned to Tonga in 1992 working firstly in the public sector before moving to the private sector. Mr. Taumoepeau spent 13 years with the National Reserve Bank of Tonga, where he filled numerous positions, setting up domestic market and corporate services systems.

Prior to his appointment at Nautilus he worked for Leiola Group Limited, where he was the General Manager in his last two years. Mr. Taumoepeau is currently President for the Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry and is also the Immediate Past Chair of PIPSO (Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation).
