A. Geoffrey Loudon (Chairman and Non-Executive Director)

Mr. Loudon is a London-based mining professional with qualifications in geology and engineering. His international experience is extensive and covers resource exploration development, production and finance in Australasia, Asia, the Americas and Europe.

Mr. Loudon was founder and chairman of Niugini Mining, discoverer of the Lihir gold deposit in PNG, which was developed by Rio Tinto in 1995. Mr. Loudon remains a founding director of Lihir Gold Limited (listed on the Australia Stock Exchange and on NASDAQ), and is chairman of L&M Petroleum Limited (listed on the Australia Stock Exchange and the New Zealand Stock Exchange). Mr. Loudon is also a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

 

Stephen Rogers (President, CEO and Executive Director)

Mr Rogers is the recently appointed CEO and President of the Nautilus Group. His primary focus is on the construction and delivery of the Company's first project, Solwara 1 and to take Nautilus from its position as a junior explorer to being the world's first deepwater exploration and production mining company. Mr. Rogers originally joined Nautilus in 2007 from Clough Limited (one of Australia's largest multi-disciplinary engineering firms) where he was CEO for oil and gas. He has 30 years of experience in project and corporate management and has extensive deepwater offshore project development experience.

Prior to his position at Clough Limited, Mr. Rogers was regional managing director Oceania based in Australia for Technip, Europe's leading oil and gas services group with a workforce of 21,000 and a global turnover of €5.4 billion. Technip acquired Coflexip Stena Offshore in early 2002 and Mr. Rogers had at that time been the managing director and executive vice president for the Middle East and Asia Pacific operations of Coflexip, a leading innovative sub-sea and deepwater technology group.

Over the last 15 years Mr. Rogers has worked at steering committee and project director level on capital intensive projects with values in excess of US$1 billion.

 

David Heydon (Non- Executive Director)

Mr. Heydon, a non- executive director was President and CEO of the Nautilus Group for over five years. Mr. Heydon's primary focus during his time was to commercialise the opportunity and position Nautilus as the world leader in this new offshore mining industry. Mr. Heydon was responsible for the corporate affairs of Nautilus and its development strategy, including the introduction of Epion Holdings Limited, Anglo American plc, and Teck Cominco Limited as major shareholders. In addition, Mr. Heydon led the Initial Public Offering ("IPO") of Nautilus on the TSX and AIM, and raised over US$360 million in the last two years to fund development of the world's first SMS mine. As a non-executive director he will continue to provide the Company with his vision, experience and cross-industry contacts.

Mr. Heydon is a foundation fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a director of the International Marine Minerals Society, a co-sponsor of the Underwater Mining Institute, a member of the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr. Heydon is also a member of the Engineering Committee on Oceanic Resources (ECOR) Specialist Panel on deepwater mining.

 

David De Witt (Non-Executive Director)

Mr. De Witt is a founder and the chairman of Pathway Capital Ltd, a private venture capital firm, and is involved in all aspects of its investment activity including analysis of investment opportunities, negotiation and structuring of transactions and fund raising activities.

Prior to forming Pathway Capital Ltd, Mr. De Witt was a partner in a venture capital corporation where he was involved in strategic planning, acquisitions and investment decisions. Mr. De Witt also spent 15 years as a practising lawyer specialising in corporate and securities law, initially with Clark Wilson in Vancouver and thereafter as a founding partner in his own law firm.

Mr. De Witt joined the Vancouver Stock Exchange in the Listings Department in 1980 where he was the first lawyer to be hired by the venture exchange. Mr. De Witt graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1975 and a Bachelor of Law degree, also from the University of British Columbia, in 1978. Mr De Witt directorships have recently included Arequipa Resources Ltd, Bear Creek Mining Corp and Peru Copper Ltd.

 

Russell Debney (Non-Executive Director)

Mr. Debney was chairman of the Board of Directors of Nautilus Minerals Niugini Limited and Nautilus Minerals Oceania Limited prior to the acquisition of those companies by Nautilus . He has been actively involved in the development strategy of Nautilus Minerals almost since its inception. Based in Sydney, Australia, Mr Debney is a qualified commercial and corporate lawyer as well as a director of a number of companies in the mining and resources industry.

He has extensive experience in the management, financing and structuring of resource projects, particularly in the offshore environment. He was a director and Senior Vice President of the Global Engineering Group, a world leading offshore oil and gas engineering company, for nearly 15 years.

 

A. Farhad Moshiri (Non-Executive Director)

Mr Moshiri joined the board in June 2007. Mr Moshiri is Chief Executive of London-listed Europe Steel Plc. He is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, having previously been employed by Deloitte & Touche. He has extensive experience with a number of Russian and UK-based steel and mining company. His directorships include Epion Holdings Limited, Ural Steel, ZAO Metalloinvest, and Gallagher Holdings Limited

 

John O'Reilly (Non-Executive Director)

Mr John O'Reilly joined the Board in December 2007. Mr. O'Reilly, holds a BSc in Metallurgy and an MSc in Mineral Process Design. He has over 40 years experience in the international mining industry including 19 years with Rio Tinto Plc ("Rio Tinto"), including Head of Technology and Head of Gold and Other Minerals, based in London, and a secondment to the Lihir Management Company as Managing Director. He was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Lihir Gold Ltd in Papua New Guinea, a plus 40 million ounces gold resource, where he was responsible for the design, engineering, construction and initial operation of the US$900 million Lihir mine, plant and associated infrastructure. He retired as a non-executive director of Lihir Gold Ltd at the end of 2006.

    Anthony O'Sullivan (Chief Operating Officer)

    Mr. O'Sullivan joined Nautilus as Vice-President - Corporate Development and later became Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Nautilus, Mr. O'Sullivan worked for BHP Billiton, where he managed the company's exploration for bulk commodities.

    Mr. O'Sullivan has 18 years of industry experience, 15 of which were with BHP Billiton. He has wide commodity experience, ranging from base metals, nickel, platinum group metals and gold to industrial minerals and the bulk commodities (coal, iron ore and bauxite). From 2001 to 2004, he was responsible for managing BHP Billiton's base metal exploration effort. As a member of the BHP Billiton Exploration Management Team since 2001, he has operated globally but has specific experience in Australia, South America, India and Vietnam. Mr. O'Sullivan's experience has included project generation, project management, business analysis, mine geology, grade control and exploration management and most recently he lead the exploration component on the integration of Western Mining into BHP Billiton. Mr. O'Sullivan was involved with the Mt. Cassiterite tantalum discovery (currently the world's largest tantalum producer) in the late 1980s when working for Pancontinental Mining, and assisted in increasing iron ore reserves at Mining Area C and Jimblebar for BHP Billiton Iron Ore.

     

    Shontel Norgate (Chief Financial Officer)

    Ms. Norgate is Chief Financial Officer of Nautilus. Prior to joining Nautilus, Ms. Norgate was the financial controller of Macarthur Coal Ltd which is a publicly-listed coal mining company (Australian Stock Exchange Top 200) with a market capitalisation of approximately A$1 billion. Ms. Norgate worked for seven years as the financial controller of a publicly-listed exploration company and commenced her career as an auditor with a predecessor firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Australia. Ms. Norgate is a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the Chartered Secretaries of Australia.

    Ms. Norgate brings to Nautilus extensive commercial experience in the resources industry including debt and equity finance, financial reporting, project management, corporate governance, commercial negotiations and business analysis.

     

    Michael Johnston (Vice-President -- Corporate Development)

    Formerly general manager for Exploration with Placer Dome, Mr. Johnston oversaw Placer Dome's exploration efforts in Australia and Asia, where he was a senior member of Placer Dome's exploration and Asia-Pacific operations management team. Prior to this role, Mr. Johnston was technical services manager for Placer Dome at the massive Porgera Gold Mine in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, where he managed the technical teams responsible for exploration, geology, geotech and engineering within the 210,000 tonnes per day open pit and 3,000 tonnes per day underground operations.

    With 20 years' experience in the mining industry, the last 11 of which were with Placer Dome, Mr. Johnston brings to Nautilus a strong knowledge of the mining industry, people, decision makers, and laws throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He also has extensive ore reserve and project evaluation experience, a track record of finding ore bodies, and a strong understanding of all aspects of deep sea mining, through his management of Placer Dome's involvement in the Solwara Projects.

     

    Scott Trebilcock (Vice-President -- Business Development)

    Mr. Trebilcock has over 12 years of experience in the metallurgical, mining and materials industries.

    Scott was a process engineer with Hatch Associates from 1994 to 1997 where he earned his Professional Engineering license. Scott moved to Noranda Inc. where he marketed for the zinc and copper assets. Scott helped start-up a joint venture with Dupont Canada in 2000, and left Noranda in 2001.

    After completing an MBA, Scott joined the boutique management consulting firm PRTM, based in Boston, MA. From 2002 to 2007, Scott consulted to Fortune 100 chemicals, materials and energy firms to help drive value from mergers, acquisitions and other large change projects.

    Scott joined Nautilus in September 2007 as Vice President of Business Development.

     

    Mel Togolo (PNG Country Manager)

    Mr. Togolo has 25 years' experience working in senior roles in industry and government, both internationally and in Papua New Guinea, and is the vice-president of the Business Council of Papua New Guinea. He has represented industry at board level, including roles at Westpac-PNG Limited, Highlands Gold Limited and Bougainville Copper Limited, and deputy chairmanship of the Investment Promotion Authority of PNG. In January 2004, Mr. Togolo was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to commerce and industry. Prior to his appointment at Nautilus he worked for ten years as General Manager -- Corporate Affairs at Placer Dome Niugini Limited.

     

    Paul Tamoepeau (Tonga Country Manager)

    Mr Tamoepeau grew up in Tonga before leaving to go studying overseas. He returned to Tonga in 1992 and has now over 16 years experience working in the public and private sector. Mr Taumoepeau spent 13 years with the National Reserve Bank of Tonga, where he worked in numerous roles setting up domestic market and corporate services systems. Prior to his appointment at Nautilus he worked for Leiola Group Limited which is the only duty free operator in Tonga, where he was the General Manager in his last 2 years. Mr Taumoepeau is Vice President of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
